Privacy
Signing in with Google is optional and is used only to save a user's quiz progress, belt rank, and achievements to their account, so this progress can be restored if they reinstall the app or switch to a new phone. Judo Academy only requests a user's basic Google profile information (name, email address, and profile photo) to create and identify their account — it does not request access to Gmail, Google Drive, contacts, or any other Google data. Users who prefer not to sign in can still use the app's core features (quizzes, technique library) without a Google account, though their progress will then be stored locally on the device only.
Questions
Yes. The core app — quizzes, technique library, and Japanese dictionary — is free to use. A Premium subscription unlocks unlimited daily quiz attempts, Randori Simulator scenarios, and AI Sensei usage.
Judo Academy is designed to be usable by learners of all ages, including children (minimum registration age: 8). No sensitive personal data is required to use the app — Google Sign-In is optional and only used to sync progress across devices.
The Technique Library, Japanese Dictionary, and previously loaded quiz content work without an internet connection. Signing in, syncing progress, and AI Sensei features require an internet connection.
Content spans the full kyu/dan system, from white belt beginner material through advanced black belt technique and theory.
